Man Shoes (New short film!)

 

So, I know we've not uploaded anything new for a while now, excluding the Q&A talk show video featuring myself and Meredith.

 

BUT.

 

Today, that changes!

 

After church, I rounded up my three youngest brothers and managed to persuade them to help out with this video. A big shout-out to my dad and other brother, Will, for lending their "man shoes" for this flick. It took a little coercing but finally they were willing to abandon their kicks and let the little guys clomp around in them.

 

 

 I had gotten the idea for this video a few weeks ago when I overheard Luke, age 6, asking Mom quizzically, "Mom, why does Will wear man shoes even though he's not a man?" (He was referring to Will's size 13 men's' sneakers.)

 

It was a cute quote and it stuck with me, demanding further attention.

 

And then a thought struck me the other night, on how to make a film out of the concept. What if I took a bunch of shots mimicking the stereotypical "tough guy" stride, with the boys wearing shoes much too big for them, and then use the video as a means to comically point out a basic truth concerning real manhood?

 

Okay, so maybe it's not a very deep video, and, with no dialogue or plot, it is rather shallow in some areas. But, like I said, it's meant to be simple and light hearted.

 

I personally like how the video quality turned out, and lemme tell ya...shooting in slow mo? It's a ball.

Ideas, please. We love ideas.

Yeah. First of all, sorry it's been so long on here without another post... I can't tell you how fast the days are speeding by! Life is so full and busy! And I love it that way. GFP has been busy, too, and we now have 31 videos up and running.

So back to business! Our old video camera's battery died, and the charger passed with it, unfortunetly. But no worries, as we now have a brand NEW camcorder, professional quality, and ready to go! It shoots in HD, and the quality and clarity is amazing. Unfortunetly, our current video editing programs are not capable of capturing HD to its perfection. The video still comes through, still looks great, but with a different program could look about 20 times better. Either way, whether we get a new program soon or not, we'll still keep making videos because the new camcorder shoots great with or without the HD captured perfectly.





I hope to shoot a film we've been trying to do for a while now, "Relative Cash", tomorrow when we get together with the other half of our crew, the Gilliams, at the farmers' market in McIntosh.





But back to the title of this post, "Ideas", that's what I wanted to write mainly about here. I'm in need of ideas for a new short we'll be doing soon as well, based on Hebrews 4:12 about the powerful, piercing Word of God. I need ideas on things we can pierce, NON-living things (of course, right?!) which can be pierced or made to look like they were pierced with a sword.
